How many concurrent Webinars can I host?

Dear community,

we are currently hosting more and more virtual events such as Townhalls and Webinars via MS Teams. The preferred way to go (mostly for it's clean Sli.do integration and interaction features) are Webinars as of now.

We will host multiple concurrent Webinars next week all at the same time. I know that I can create and also organize more than one Webinar at a time and that I can move between Webinars while being "on hold" on the other one.

I can't find any maximum number of concurrent Webinars at any point in the documentation, but i also don't want to rely on that. Under no circumstances can I afford to be unable to host half of my attendees on the day of the event.

Can someone provide a definitive answer and/or a documented limit for this scenario?

Many thanks and best regards,

Marek

    Hi @Marek Orube (DHL DE)

Based on the information you provided, I understand that you plan to run several Microsoft Teams webinars at the same time next week, all organised by the same account. Although you have confirmed that you can schedule multiple webinars and move between them, you need a definitive, documented concurrency limit because these are business-critical events and you cannot risk attendees being unable to join.

After checking the current Microsoft documentation, I could not find a published maximum for the number of concurrent webinars that can be hosted by a single organiser. The official Meetings and events feature and capacity comparison documents event capacity and related limits, including up to 10 co-organisers and up to 100 presenters, but it does not specify a per-organiser or per-tenant concurrency limit for webinars.

Similarly, the current Limits and specifications for Microsoft Teams documentation lists many Teams service limits, but the available documentation does not provide a numerical limit for concurrent webinars organised by the same user.

The published documentation does confirm that webinars are controlled through Teams event policies and that users with webinars enabled can create events with up to 1,000 attendees. However, this is an attendee-capacity limit per event, not a limit on how many webinars can run concurrently.

Therefore, I do not think it would be safe to interpret the absence of a documented concurrency limit as confirmation that an unlimited number of webinars can be run simultaneously by one organiser.

For an important event day, I would recommend assigning a separate licensed organiser or co-organiser to each webinar rather than relying on one person to actively manage several concurrent sessions. Microsoft’s current comparison documentation supports up to 10 co-organisers for an event, but the documentation I found does not state that adding co-organisers changes any service-side concurrency limit. I would also suggest running a full rehearsal with the same organiser accounts, policies, licences, number of simultaneous webinars, presenter roles, and approximate joining pattern planned for the live event. A rehearsal cannot establish an official platform limit, but it can help identify operational issues such as presenter access, content sharing, recording, moderation, and hand-offs between organisers.

I am also just a regular community user, so I cannot provide a contractual or backend service-limit confirmation. Based on the currently published information, concurrent webinars are supported, but I could not verify a documented maximum number that one organiser can safely host at the same time.
    Thank you for your understanding.

Follow-up - for anyone wondering: I tested this myself and found that I can hold up to 4 webinar calls simultaneously under the same account.

I started the first webinar, put it on hold, started the second, and continued until I had three calls on hold and one active call. When I tried to start a fifth webinar, Teams displayed an error saying I needed to end an existing call before opening another one.

So, at least in my testing, it is possible to host/manage 4 concurrent webinars, but not 5.

Might be worth to mention that we own Teams Premium licenses in our company. I don't know if this affects the number of concurrent meetings.
