Try these fixes in order:
- Use Insert instead of Paste
- In PowerPoint, go to Insert > Pictures.
- Choose the photo from the local device and insert it directly.
- This is the recommended workaround when paste is failing.
- If using PowerPoint for the web, allow clipboard access
- Copy the picture.
- In PowerPoint for the web, go to Home > Paste.
- If prompted, select Allow Access.
- If the picture was copied from Outlook, don’t paste it directly into PowerPoint for the web
- Save the picture to the computer first.
- Then use Insert > Pictures in PowerPoint for the web.
- If using Firefox or Safari with PowerPoint for the web, use keyboard shortcuts
- Copy with Ctrl+C.
- Paste with Ctrl+P.
- Make sure the image is in a supported format
- PowerPoint for the web supports: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tif, .tiff, .wmf, .emf.
- EPS files can no longer be inserted into Office documents.
- If the photos are from a gallery or phone-connected source and an error appears
- Make sure OneDrive is enabled and running.
- In Phone Link, make sure the phone is online.
If the photos are local files on Windows and paste still fails, the most reliable path is to save them as PNG or JPG and insert them with Insert > Pictures instead of pasting.
