Hi David,

The error code means the provider is not running.

Since you say you are copying from the Gallery, please ensure:

  1. Onedrive is enabled and running.
  2. In the Phone Link app, Phone is online not offline.

Ensuring both of these are fine should later result in Photos being downloaded.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

Thanks for the update. Could you let me know if the Phone link app is online?

Error 0x800701AA is not described in the provided material, but the context does cover common PowerPoint image-insertion issues and their resolutions. Use the supported steps below that match problems inserting or displaying pictures from File Explorer into PowerPoint photo albums.

    1. Install the latest Office updates
    • Make sure PowerPoint is fully up to date, as several image‑insertion issues are fixed in newer builds.
    • Open any Office app (for example, PowerPoint) and go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
    • After updating, restart PowerPoint and try Insert > Photo Album > New Photo Album > File/Disk again.
    1. Try saving the presentation in a different location If the album file is being created or saved in a problematic location (for example, a network share or synced folder), images may fail to insert or display.
    • In PowerPoint, go to File > Save As.
    • Save the presentation to a different local folder (for example, a folder under Documents or Desktop).
    • Close PowerPoint completely.
    • Reopen PowerPoint, open the saved file, and try inserting the photos again via Insert > Photo Album > New Photo Album > File/Disk.
    1. Check for missing or incompatible graphics filters If a required graphics filter is missing or corrupted, PowerPoint can fail to import certain image formats.
    • When inserting or dragging a picture into PowerPoint, if a dialog appears, read it carefully; it may prompt to install a graphics filter or indicate a filter problem.
    • Follow the instructions in that dialog to install or repair the graphics filter.
    • If a specific file type consistently fails, try converting those images to a more common format (such as .JPG or .PNG) using another tool, then insert them again.
    1. Ensure pictures are embedded, not only linked If images are on a network location or removable drive and are only linked, PowerPoint may fail to access them reliably.
    • When creating the photo album, select the pictures from a local folder on the PC (for example, under Pictures), not from a removable drive or network share.
    • If the presentation will be moved or shared, use the Package for CD feature to bundle the presentation and its associated files so links are updated and preserved.
    1. Alternative insertion path (screen reader–style steps also work generally) If the photo album wizard continues to fail, insert pictures directly into slides as a workaround:
    • Go to the slide where a picture is needed.
    • Use Insert > Pictures > This Device and select the image from File Explorer.
    • Repeat for each slide, or duplicate slides as needed.
    1. Create a new photo album from scratch If the current album file is damaged, create a new one:
    • In a new blank presentation, go to Insert and click the arrow under Photo Album, then New Photo Album.
    • Select File/Disk, choose a small batch of pictures first, and click Insert.
    • Click Create and confirm that this smaller album works before adding more images.

If the error persists after updating Office and using a local folder, the issue is not covered further in the provided material and would require additional troubleshooting outside this context.
