Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
For a Microsoft 365 personal subscription, the fastest supported path is:
- Sign in to Services & subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services/.
- Find the Microsoft 365 subscription and select Pay now if it shows as past due.
- Check the payment method on that subscription. If the existing card is expired, update the expiration date if possible, or add a new payment method on the Services & subscriptions page.
- Complete the payment.
Important checks based on Microsoft guidance:
- If the subscription is already past due, that can block removing or changing payment options until the balance is paid.
- If using PayPal, it must have a linked credit card or confirmed bank account, and the linked funding source must have sufficient funds and not be expired.
- Banks may require an extra identity verification step before the transaction is approved, so bank and Microsoft account contact details should be current.
Since the card details are already being entered exactly and the card works elsewhere, use Contact Support for account-specific billing help:
- Go to Contact Microsoft Support
- Enter the problem and select Get Help
- If needed, select Contact Support to reach the best support option
This is the supported escalation path when the payment method still will not validate.
