I have Premium, why is my CoPilot so limited.

I use a lot of Copilot in my everyday life, especially with MS excel and PP. But I do not get much usage from it because it tells me to try again tomorrow, I've reached my limit.

I thought subscribing to 365 would give me unlimited copilot use with these applications?

Microsoft 365 Premium does not provide unlimited Copilot use; when Excel or PowerPoint reports “try again tomorrow,” wait for that feature’s usage window to reset and check your current status under Microsoft account → Services & subscriptions.

Premium offers higher or “extensive” usage for selected Copilot features, but limits still apply. Limits can vary by feature, entry point, plan, and system conditions, and Microsoft may change them over time.^1^

Check whether this is a valid limit

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account with the account that purchased Premium.
    2. Open Services & subscriptions.
    3. Locate Microsoft 365 Premium and review the displayed AI credits and limits status.
    4. If it shows that a limit has been reached, no Office repair or reinstallation will reset it. Wait for the applicable usage period to renew. The in-app “tomorrow” message indicates the current feature’s window is expected to reset the following day.
    5. For work that does not require direct spreadsheet or presentation integration, try Copilot Chat at microsoft365.com. Limits can differ between features and entry points, so Chat might remain available when an in-app Excel or PowerPoint action is restricted.^1^

Microsoft does not publish one universal numerical limit for every Excel and PowerPoint operation. Some usage is measured through monthly AI credits, while other features have their own caps within specific timeframes.

Confirm that the correct account owns Premium

Copilot’s AI benefits in a consumer Premium subscription are available only to the subscription owner; they cannot be shared with other members. Premium can share Office apps and storage with up to five other people, but not its in-app Copilot entitlement.^2^

    In Excel or PowerPoint:

    1. Open File → Account.
    2. Check that the signed-in account is the same account listed as the Premium owner under Services & subscriptions.
    3. If Premium was shared with this account rather than purchased by it, the account can use Microsoft 365 Chat, but desktop-app AI benefits remain limited to the owner.^3^

If the account shows available usage

If Services & subscriptions shows that this account owns Premium and still has available usage, but Excel or PowerPoint continues reporting that the limit was reached:

    1. Record the app, feature, time, and exact message.
    2. Take screenshots of the error and the account’s AI-usage status, without exposing personal information.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support and ask it to verify the account’s Copilot entitlement and usage-limit state. This requires account-level investigation and cannot be resolved through an Office reinstall.

Premium is therefore the higher-limit consumer plan, not an unlimited-use plan.^4^
