Hi Team,

My primary account is <removed PII>@hotmail.com, however I have a mail id <removed PII>@hotmail.co.uk due to a phone I used way back. Since then, whenever I send a mail it automatically gets routed through <removed PII>@hotmail.co.uk. I have recently sent a few mails from the above mentioned email and currently not able to access these mails. Kindly help me find these as they are extremely important.

Regards,

Krushi Reddy

    I’d first check whether the messages are actually being sent but just not appearing in the Sent Items folder. Try sending a test email from Outlook on the web and see if it shows up there. If it does, the issue is probably with the desktop app syncing rather than the mailbox itself.

    Is this 1 Microsoft Account with 2 email addresses or 2 separate Microsoft Accounts?

    To see the email addresses associated with your Microsoft Account, go to;
    https://account.live.com/names/manage

    Regarding the Sent Items themselves;

    • Do you see any Sent Items at all?
    • Do you see Sent Items for the other address?
    • When you sent a new message, does the item get stored in the Sent Items folder?
    • Are you using Outlook on the Web for this or are you using your Outlook.com mailbox in an App? If yes, which one?
      When using Classic Outlook, make sure you have the option selected to save sent messages;
      File-> Options-> Mail-> section: Save messages-> Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder

    Check these places first in Outlook.com or Outlook:

    1. Open Sent Items in the folder list.
      • If there are multiple accounts in Outlook, each account has its own Sent Items folder.
      • If Sent Items is not visible, expand the account folder using the arrow next to it.
    2. Search inside Sent Items.
      • Use keywords from the message.
      • Narrow the search with:
        • To:<name>
        • Subject:<keyword>
    3. Check whether the messages were never sent.
      • If a message is still in Outbox, it was not sent successfully.
      • This can happen because of connection or sign-in problems.
    4. Check Deleted Items or Trash.
      • The sent messages may have been deleted.
    5. If using Outlook on Windows, verify that sent mail is being saved.
      • Go to File > Options > Mail.
      • Under Save messages, make sure Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder is selected.
    6. If older sent mail is missing in Outlook on Windows, increase offline sync time.
      • Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
      • Select the account, then Change.
      • Move the Mail to keep offline slider to a longer interval.
    7. If mail is being sent from the hotmail.co.uk address format and replies are not behaving correctly in Outlook for Windows, a documented workaround is to set up the account manually as an IMAP or POP account in a new Outlook profile.
