Hi Steve, this forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access.

    1

Log into your Microsoft account on this link.

If you find any subscription listed there that you do not need, click the Manage button beside the subscription and form there, you can cancel the subscription for a pro-rata refund and also ensure you disable the recurring billing on the subscription.

    2

If you are unable to find that, using any Microsoft account you may have, try using the steps provided on this link to find out what that payment was for.

If you are still unable to resolve that payment problem, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly, try using this method to contact their support.

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    Select Microsoft 365

    Click 'Get Home Support'.

In the box provided, type billing.

Press Enter, then on the next page, scroll down and click 'Sign in to Contact Support'.

Navigate to Microsoft 365 and Office - Manage my Subscription.

Select the 'Chat with support agent in web browser' option

Investigate the unrecognized charge through your Microsoft account first, then cancel and request a refund—or contact your bank immediately if the payment cannot be matched to any account.

    1. Identify the charge

    1. Open Microsoft’s Manage your payments page and sign in: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2246882
    2. Select Investigate beside the unfamiliar payment.
    3. Check every Microsoft account you may use, including Outlook, Hotmail, Live, and any Gmail address registered as a Microsoft account. Also consider whether a family member used the card.

Unexpected charges can result from recurring billing, a family member’s purchase, a retried declined payment, or an in-app purchase. The investigation tool is designed to match a payment to the relevant account or purchase.^1^

    2. Cancel Microsoft 365 and check for a refund

If the investigation identifies a Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium subscription:

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the account that purchased it.
    2. Select Manage.
    3. Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
    4. Complete the cancellation prompts. The process will automatically indicate whether the subscription qualifies for a refund.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft 365")

If the page says Turn on recurring billing, renewal is already disabled and no further automatic charge should occur after the displayed expiration date.

If Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or another retailer billed the subscription, cancellation and refund must be handled by that seller rather than Microsoft.[^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Unable to cancel your Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")

    3. Contact a person at Microsoft

Open Microsoft customer support and choose the Get help option for account and billing assistance. Describe the issue as “unrecognized Microsoft 365 charge”; support may offer chat or another contact method appropriate to your location.^4^

Do not post your card number, email address, phone number, or transaction details in this public forum.

If no Microsoft account contains the charge

Contact your bank or card issuer and report the payment as unauthorized. Ask it to:

    • dispute the charge;
    • block further payments from the compromised card; and
    • replace the card if its details may have been stolen.

Microsoft specifically advises contacting the payment provider to prevent additional charges; disputing only the existing payment may not prevent new fraudulent transactions.^1^
