    Hi @Laurie Grier

Assuming this is Dynamics 365 Business Central (that's where Microsoft's "blanket purchase order" lives), the idea is to set up one blanket order with a line per billing period, then turn each line into a normal purchase order when it's due.

    Set up the blanket order

    1. Search (Alt+Q) for Blanket Purchase Orders and choose New.
    2. Pick the vendor and fill in the header. Leave Order Date blank, so each real order gets the date you actually create it.
    3. On the Lines, add one line per period. For a monthly service over a year, that's 12 lines, each with its own expected receipt date.

Each time the service is due

    1. Open the blanket order and clear Qty. to Receive on every line except the one you're ordering now.
    2. Choose Make Order and confirm. Business Central creates a regular purchase order for that line and keeps the blanket order for next time.

Just keep in mind the ordered quantity can't exceed the blanket line's quantity, but you can raise the Quantity on the blanket line later if the agreement grows.

Is this Business Central you're working in, or a different Purchase management system?
