Since password sign-in still works, use that first, then reset Windows Hello components in this order:

    1. Reset the PIN
      • Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
      • Under PIN (Windows Hello), select I forgot my PIN or remove the PIN and add it again.
      • On the lock screen, Sign-in options can also be used to reset the PIN.
    2. Re-enroll fingerprint
      • Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Fingerprint recognition (Windows Hello).
      • Select Remove, then set it up again.
      • When registering, make sure the reader and finger are clean and dry, and capture different angles of the finger.
    3. If fingerprint still does nothing, reinstall the biometric driver
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Biometric devices.
      • Right-click the fingerprint sensor and select Uninstall Device.
      • Restart the PC so Windows reinstalls the driver.
    4. Restart the Windows Biometric Service
      • First remove the PIN in Sign-in options.
      • Open Command Prompt as administrator.
      • Run:
net stop wbiosrvc && net start wbiosrvc

      • Then test fingerprint sign-in again.
    5. If PIN creation fails again
      • Sign out, sign back in with the password, and try creating the PIN again.
    6. If face/fingerprint/PIN options show as unavailable after an update or recent change
      • A restart can clear a stuck enrollment state.
      • If Windows Hello worked before, a recently installed app, driver, or update may be involved.

Note: uninstalling the biometric device and removing PIN enrollment will require setting Windows Hello up again afterward.
