Hello, I signed up for the MS Office Business somehow when all I need is MS Personal. This is for personal use only and I do not need a domain name nor know how to get one or use it. How can I make this switch?

Unfortunately you cannot directly switch or convert a Microsoft 365 Business subscription into a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription because they are separate subscription types with different account and service management structures. To move from Business to Personal, you must purchase a separate Personal subscription, transfer your files and other data, and then cancel your Business subscription.

Step 1: Purchase Microsoft 365 Personal

Go to the official Microsoft 365 Personal page and purchase the subscription using your regular Microsoft account or a new personal account.

Step 2: Back Up and Save Your Data

Download any files, documents, and spreadsheets stored in your Business OneDrive to your local computer. If you have emails or contacts associated with your business account in Outlook, export them to a .pst file or save them locally to avoid losing access to that data.

Step 3: Install Office Apps for Personal Use

Uninstall the business-licensed Office applications if necessary, or sign out of your business account. Sign in with your personal Microsoft account and install or activate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook under your Personal subscription. Upload your saved files to your Personal OneDrive.

Step 4: Cancel Your Microsoft 365 Business Subscription

Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center using your business account. Navigate to Billing > Your products, select your Business subscription, and choose Cancel subscription to stop future billing. Check Microsoft's refund and cancellation policies before proceeding, particularly if you are early in your billing cycle.
