many times when I (re-)start my pc the Hello Login-password does not work. Then I have to login in my Microsoft account and change my password. this seems not to stop. the errorcode I get is 0x80284001 and the microsoft Q&A does not help me (and support by telephone does no longer exist at Microsoft so I am lost)

what must I do

The error code 0x80284001 indicates issues with TPM chip.

Can you clear TPM once and restart your system and then re-configure Windows Hello PIN again.

If issue still persists, try disabling TPM from BIOS and then re-enable it.

For this Windows Hello sign-in problem, use a different sign-in method first, then reset the Windows Hello method instead of repeatedly changing the Microsoft account password.

    1. On the sign-in screen, select Sign-in options and use the password option if available.
    2. If the device says the sign-in option is disabled after failed attempts, keep the PC powered on for at least 2 hours, then try again.
    3. If the Microsoft account password is not accepted, use the Sign-in Helper tool to check the account and recover access if needed.
    4. After signing in with the password, reset Windows Hello:
      • Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
      • If fingerprint is configured, remove it and set it up again.
      • If PIN is the problem, select PIN (Windows Hello) and choose I forgot my PIN.
    5. Restart the PC and test sign-in again.
    6. If Windows Hello worked before and then started failing, a recent app, driver, or update may be involved. In that case, use Windows recovery options such as System Restore or Uninstall Latest Quality Update from Recovery.
    7. If the issue continues across restarts, use Contact Support from Microsoft Support and select Get Help.

Important: resetting or restoring the PC is more disruptive and can affect installed apps, so use recovery options before any full reset.
