Try this in order:
- Disconnect the ASUS mouse and any USB receiver, wait a few seconds, then reconnect it directly to a different USB port.
- If a USB hub is being used, remove it and connect the device directly to the PC.
- If the mouse is battery-powered, make sure it is charged.
- Check whether the device is actually still being detected by Windows.
- Connect the mouse to another PC if possible.
- If it does not work there either, the device may need replacement.
- Update the device driver through Windows Update.
- In the taskbar search box, type check for updates.
- Select Check for updates.
- Under Windows Update, select Check for updates again and install anything offered.
- Update or reinstall the driver in Device Manager.
- In the taskbar search box, type device manager and open Device Manager.
- Find the affected device category and double-click the device name.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Select Update Driver and follow the prompts.
- If this device is appearing under Bluetooth or was installed as part of a wireless pairing path, use the Bluetooth recovery steps.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Press and hold or right-click the Bluetooth adapter, then select Uninstall device.
- Shut down the PC, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
- If Windows does not reinstall the adapter automatically, open Device Manager and select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
- If the device still reappears after removal, check for mouse or keyboard companion software installed with the device and remove it, then restart and test again.
Because uninstalling is already causing a BSOD, avoid repeated forced removals until the driver and Bluetooth adapter path have been refreshed first.
