    Hi,

Please check your email first. The system automatically sends a security alert to the original primary email address associated with the account.

    • Open the inbox of the original email address linked to your account.
    • Check for recent messages from Microsoft Security, and do not forget to review your Spam or Junk folders as well.
    • Look for subject lines such as “Your account’s primary alias has been changed” or “Your security information has been modified.”
    • Inside these emails, you’ll usually find an official link with wording like “If this wasn’t you, click here to revert the change” or “Review activity.” Clicking this link promptly will block the intruder and help you regain control of your account.

If you do not see the email alert, please go to the link below to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account or follow the steps provided by the AI answer.

    Stay Safe!

If the sign-in email was changed, the fastest recovery path is to use the Microsoft account recovery and support flow.

    1. Start with the Sign-in Helper tool. It checks the account status and guides the available recovery steps: Sign-in Helper tool
    2. If the original email is no longer recognized, use the account recovery form and provide a working email address that can receive updates. Include as much detail as possible about the account. Helpful details can include:
      • previous passwords
      • contacts or email subject lines used with the account
      • older account details that may have been set when the account was created
    3. If the sign-in alias was changed, try any other alias or phone number that was previously added to the account. Microsoft notes that if one email is not recognized, another alias or phone number on the same account may still work.
    4. To contact Microsoft Support:
      • Go to Contact Microsoft Support
      • Enter the problem and select Get Help
      • If needed, select Contact Support to reach the best support option
    5. Important limitation: support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or directly access and change account details. Recovery still depends on verifying account ownership.

If the account was used on Xbox or Windows, checking the signed-in account details on those devices may help identify the current sign-in address before submitting recovery.
