    Hi, @J T

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Are you seeing this message on a Windows PC or a Mac?
    2. When you sign in to your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services does the subscription show as active there, or still unpaid?

If you haven't tried anything yet (Windows PC):

    • Make sure you're signed in with the same Microsoft account that the subscription is linked to.
    • Then, open any Office app (like Word or Excel), go to File > Account, and click "Update License" to refresh your subscription status.

    If you're using Mac (MacOS):

    • Open any Microsoft 365 app such as Word. > At the top of the screen, select Word (or the app name) in the menu bar. > Select About Word. > Click More Info… > Select "Refresh License".
    • After that, close any open documents and completely restart all Microsoft 365 apps so the license refresh can take effect.

If the issue persists, please provide more details by answering my questions.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!

    1. Go to your Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy Microsoft 365. Check whether the subscription shows as active.
    2. If the subscription is active, close all open Office apps, then open them again. If prompted, sign in again with that same Microsoft account. This often clears Renew your subscription or Subscription expired notices that continue after renewal.
    3. If Office shows “We’ve run into a problem with your Microsoft 365 subscription”, check Payment options and make sure the payment method does not show an error. An expired or cancelled card can cause the subscription to appear expired or suspended.
    4. If the subscription does not appear active on the account being used, the purchase may be tied to a different Microsoft account. Check Order history and, if needed, review other Microsoft accounts that may have been used for the purchase.
    5. If a physical retail box or card was purchased, the subscription does not start until the product key is redeemed.
    6. If the renewal date or subscription status still looks wrong after these checks, contact Microsoft Support through the official support flow.
