I assume you are switching from Classic Outlook to New Outlook for Windows and it failed to bring over your Calendar events?

If the AI Answer didn't help you solve the problem - Please give me some more details about what kind of email account(s) you had in Classic Outlook? (e.g. GMail, Yahoo)

Or tell me if I've missed the point of your question entirely.

Import the old appointments from their Outlook Data File (.pst) into an Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 mailbox so new Outlook for Windows can synchronize them.

Email appeared because it was stored on or synchronized from the mail server; the appointments were likely stored locally in classic Outlook, often in a .pst file or a calendar marked “This computer only.”

    Move the appointments

    1. Switch back to classic Outlook
      • In new Outlook, turn off the New Outlook toggle.
      • Do not remove the old email account or delete any Outlook data files.
    2. Locate the old calendar
      • In classic Outlook, select File → Open & Export → Open Outlook Data File.
      • Open the relevant .pst file, then expand it in the folder pane and select Calendar. A .pst can contain appointments and other Outlook items.^1^
      • Common locations include:
        • C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Outlook Files\
        • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\
    3. Add the destination cloud account to classic Outlook
      • Add the same Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 account that you use in new Outlook.
      • Confirm that its mailbox and Calendar appear in classic Outlook.
    4. Import the calendar into that mailbox
      • Select File → Open & Export → Import/Export.
      • Choose Import from another program or file → Outlook Data File (.pst).
      • Browse to the old .pst.
      • Select its Calendar folder and retain Include subfolders if applicable.
      • Choose the Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 mailbox as the destination, then select Finish.^2^
    5. Verify before switching
      • In classic Outlook, open the destination account’s Calendar and confirm that the appointments are present.
      • Then return to new Outlook and open Calendar. Ensure the destination account’s calendar is selected in the left pane.

Importing makes a copy; it does not remove the original appointments from the .pst.^2^

If the appointments are already in a cloud mailbox

If the old Calendar belongs to the same Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 account—not a local calendar—adding that same account should synchronize it automatically.^3^

Check whether the appointments appear in that account’s web calendar:

    • Present on the web: the data is server-side; check that the correct calendar is selected in new Outlook. If it still does not appear, remove and re-add that account.
    • Absent on the web but visible in classic Outlook: the appointments are local; use the import procedure above.
    • Absent from both: search for another .pst and open it in classic Outlook. Avoid deleting or recreating the old Outlook profile until the appointments are recovered.

New Outlook’s PST capabilities and menus vary by rollout. Current Microsoft documentation describes Settings → Data files → Import, but classic Outlook remains the safer recovery route when the old appointments are local and need to be placed in a synchronized mailbox.^2^
