My Microsoft account is being treated as a Work/School account and I cannot reach support

My personal Microsoft account is being misclassified as a Work/School account. Because of this, every support page redirects me to the Sign-in Helper and I cannot reach a human agent. My account appears to be stuck in the GUID tenant [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed].

Please escalate this to the Microsoft Identity Support team to remove the Work/School identity from my personal account. I cannot access any consumer support channels because the system always routes me to the enterprise sign-in flow.

Sorry, but we’re having trouble signing you in.

    Hello @PeterO,

Thank you for sharing the details of your issue, I understand how confusing this situation can be when your account is being treated as a work/school account.

To better understand what might be causing this, I would like to check whether your account may have previously been added as a guest user in that tenant. Could you please try the following steps to verify this:

First, open a private/incognito browser window. Paste the following link: https://myapps.microsoft.com/?tenant=

After “tenant=”, please enter the tenant ID you mentioned. The final link should look similar to the example in the screenshot.

    User's image

Once you are able to access the page, please:

    • Click “My Account”
    • Go to “Organizations”
    • Look for the tenant in the list
    • If it appears under “Other organizations you collaborate with”, click “Leave” to remove it

    User's image

If this works, it should remove the association between your account and that tenant.

However, if you are still experiencing the issue after trying the steps above, could you please let me know:

    • Which application or page you are trying to sign in to
    • And if possible, share a full screenshot of the error message you are seeing

This will help me better understand your scenario and guide you more accurately. Thank you very much for your cooperation, and I look forward to your update.

    Best regards,
