Wait until seven full days have passed since the alias was deleted, then—if it was an @outlook.com address on this same Microsoft account and another alias still lets you sign in—make one attempt to recreate the exact address through Add email → Create a new Outlook.com email address and add it as an alias.

Try after the seven-day window

The restriction message is associated with a rolling alias-change limit; Microsoft Q&A guidance says to wait seven days after the most recent successful alias addition or removal.^1^ Since only four days have passed, wait at least three more days. Failed attempts are not documented as restarting that period.

After seven full days:

  1. Sign in using another alias for the same Microsoft account.
  2. Open Microsoft account → Your info → Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
  3. Select Add email.
  4. Select Create a new Outlook.com email address and add it as an alias.
  5. Enter the exact deleted address and submit it.

A closely matching Microsoft Q&A case reports that a deleted Outlook.com alias can now be recreated this way on its original account after the seven-day restriction expires.^2^

However, this recovery behavior is undocumented and conflicts with Microsoft’s published warning that removing a Microsoft-domain alias—such as @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com—permanently deletes it and prevents it from being associated with any Microsoft account again.^3^ Therefore, the attempt may still return an unavailable or reserved-domain error.

If the exact address cannot be restored

There is no documented self-service method to override the permanent-deletion rule. To regain access to the supplier account:

  • Ask the supplier to replace the deleted address with an email address you can currently receive.
  • Use the supplier’s account-recovery process if verification is being sent only to the deleted address.
  • If needed, create a new Outlook.com alias from the same Add email page. Microsoft also permits adding an address from another provider when it is not already connected to another Microsoft account.^4^

If the restriction remains after the full waiting period and also blocks creation of a completely different alias, use Outlook.com → Help → Still need help? → Yes to contact Outlook.com support. Support can investigate the restriction, but Microsoft states that support agents cannot access or change Microsoft account details.^3^

Avoid deleting an alias to control spam

For future unwanted mail, block or report the sender rather than deleting the address. If the concern is unauthorized sign-in attempts, keep the alias but disable its sign-in permission under Microsoft account → Your info → Sign-in preferences, choose which aliases may sign in, and select Save.^5^

If the alias you removed ended in outlook.com - then you can add it back to the same account it was removed from.

If the alias ended with hotmail.com, msn.com, live.com - I am sorry. It is gone and can not be recovered.

This is a huge hole in Microsoft Account Security that many people have fallen into. I realize that this will be of no help to you, but to perhaps keep someone else from falling into this same hole, I suggest that you Vote for and Comment on this Feature Request.
