This error is being reported with the Office apps on a Mac at the moment.

    1

Are you using the Microsoft AutoUpdater Tool form this link and if so, what error is indicated.

    2

What version of Microsoft Office do you have, is that Office 2019, 2021 or 2024.

    3

At the top left of your Mac Desktop, click the Apple icon and select 'About this Mac', what version of MacOS is installed on your computer?

    Try this in order:

    1. Open any Office app such as Word or Excel.
    2. Select Help > Check for Updates.
    3. In Microsoft AutoUpdate, make sure automatic updates are enabled, then select Check for Updates again.
    4. If Microsoft AutoUpdate shows an error or does not run correctly, install the latest version of Microsoft AutoUpdate and run the installer package.
    5. After reinstalling Microsoft AutoUpdate, open it again and update Office.

If the Mac is managed by an organization and software installation is blocked, contact the Helpdesk or IT administrator.

If the update problem started after installing Office Home & Student 2016 from account.microsoft.com, install version 15.41 first and then use Microsoft AutoUpdate to move to the latest available version.
