    Hi,

    1. Open People (the contacts icon) from the app launcher or the left navigation.
    2. Select All contacts or the contacts list you want to sort.
    3. Choose Filter or Manage contacts, then select Sort if it’s available.
    4. Set the sort order to First name or Last name, and choose Ascending (A–Z).
    5. Alternatively, click the Name column, and it should sort in one click.

Open People, then use the sorting menu above your contacts to alphabetize them by first or last name.

    1. Sign in to Outlook.com.
    2. Select the People icon in the left navigation bar.
    3. Select All contacts.
    4. At the top of the contact list, open the current sorting menu, such as By first name.
    5. Under Sort by, select:
      • First name for A–Z by first name, or
      • Last name for A–Z by surname.

The list updates immediately. You can also control how names appear through Settings → Display contacts by → First name or Last name.^1^

This sorts your saved contacts. If you mean the recipient suggestions that appear while typing in the To field, those cannot be set to alphabetical order because Outlook generates that list dynamically.
