This is a public community forum, and no one here can access your Microsoft account or billing system. Please use the instructions in the following article to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft-398c5328-364c-d5e4-ea8f-f5ad60562a93

Then follow the instructions here to cancel your subscription and request a possible refund:

If it doesn’t work or you need further assistance, for your security and privacy, I recommend contacting Microsoft Billing Support directly, as this request involves personal or sensitive information that should not be shared in a public forum.

    Click this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/

Sign in to your Microsoft account.

Select Microsoft 365 > Click 'Get home support'.

Type "Chat with an agent" from the text field and press Enter.

Click "Contact support" at the bottom.

Select the product you need help with.

Follow the prompts to connect with a live agent or request a call back.

Do not make another payment or cancel the subscription you intend to keep; identify both $138.52 charges and contact Microsoft Billing Support to refund the duplicate.

    Request the refund

    1. Open your Microsoft account Order history: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account used for Microsoft 365.
    3. Locate both $138.52 transactions and record:
      • Transaction dates
      • Order numbers
      • Payment method
      • Subscription associated with each charge
    4. If only one charge appears, open Payment options and select Investigate. This can locate another Microsoft account—possibly one belonging to a family member—that used the same card. Repeat the order-history check for any other Microsoft accounts you use. ^1^
    5. Contact Microsoft Support: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2258619
    6. Enter Microsoft 365 charged twice, select Get Help, and then Contact Support. Choose the available chat or callback option.
    7. Provide both order numbers and say:

I paid $138.52 on September 14, 2026. After receiving another payment-due message, I followed the payment instructions and was charged another $138.52. Please refund the duplicate payment while keeping my current Microsoft 365 subscription active.

Microsoft Q&A cannot access billing records or issue the refund; a Microsoft billing agent must review the transactions.

If the two charges belong to two subscriptions

Do not cancel anything until the account history identifies which subscription is the unintended duplicate. Microsoft’s online refund process requires signing in with the account that purchased that subscription and selecting Services & subscriptions → Manage → Cancel; the cancellation screen determines refund eligibility automatically, and not every cancellation produces a refund. [^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft subscription refund policy | Microsoft Support")

Cancellation can also reduce Microsoft 365 and OneDrive benefits, so the billing-support route is safer when one subscription must remain active.

If Microsoft cannot find the second transaction

If neither account history nor Investigate identifies it:

    • Ask the billing agent to search using the date, amount, payment method, and bank transaction reference.
    • If the charge is not recognized or may be unauthorized, contact the bank to prevent further charges—not merely to dispute the existing one. Microsoft specifically recommends contacting the payment provider when payment information may have been compromised. ^3^
    • If Apple, Google, or another provider processed the payment, request the refund from that billing provider rather than Microsoft. [^4^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")

Do not post bank details, card numbers, order numbers, or other account information in this public forum.
