    Hello Jennifer Gretzinger,

Thank you for providing the details. Since you have already confirmed that the card information is correct, could you please clarify whether you are adding the card to a personal Microsoft account or a work/business account?

Also, please check whether the country or region where the card was issued matches the country or region currently set on your Microsoft account. A mismatch may prevent the payment method from being saved, even when the card details are valid.

If the regions match and your bank confirms that the card is enabled for online, recurring, and international payments, the issue may require an account-specific review. As this is a user-to-user support forum, contributors cannot access your billing profile or payment verification status. You can contact Microsoft Support, enter Billing, and select Contact Support when the option appears.

Please let me know which account type you are using, as this will help determine the most appropriate next step. Thank you so much for your understanding.

For a personal Microsoft account, try these steps:

    1. Go to Payment options and select Add a new payment method.
    2. Re-enter the card details exactly as issued.
    3. If the card is rejected, try the postal code with and without spaces.
    4. Verify the Microsoft account country or region matches the card’s country. If adding a payment method for another country, first change Your info > Edit profile info, then add the card again.
    5. Check with the bank or payment provider that the transaction is not being blocked and that the card has sufficient funds.
    6. If using PayPal instead, it must have a credit card or confirmed bank account as its funding source.
    7. If the card is for a Microsoft subscription, add the new payment method on the Services & subscriptions page.

    Important:

    • Not all payment methods are supported in all regions.
    • Some banks require identity verification before the transaction will go through.
    • If the issue continues, use Contact Microsoft Support from the support page.
