    Dear Rodney Fox,

If you're receiving Microsoft billing notices even though your payment has already been made and you have a receipt, please understand that, as this is a public community forum, no one can stop or remove those emails on your behalf.

To better understand what's happening, could you provide a few more details?

    • What type of Microsoft subscription is this (Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Business, or another subscription)?
    • Are the notices arriving by email, appearing in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, or both?
    • Where did you make the payment? Was the payment made directly from Microsoft, or was the subscription purchased through a Microsoft partner/reseller?

Usually, these reminders keep popping up because the subscription info hasn't completely synced across everything at Microsoft yet. Or, it could be that there's an unpaid bill that needs a manual retry, even after you updated your card. It's also possible the notification settings are set to keep sending reminders to the same email until the system confirms the payment's been applied to that specific bill.

In this case, if you are using M365 for Home/Family/Personal subscription, I recommend you try logging into your Services & Subscriptions page and make sure your subscription shows as Active with the correct next charge date. If anything says Past due, click it and retry the payment. This should stop the alerts within a day or two. Then, double-check your recurring billing settings or just turn them off if you don't want renewal reminders. For reference: Manage my Microsoft 365 subscription

If you're dealing with a business subscription, take a peek at the Billing notifications page in the Microsoft 365 admin center to change who gets billing emails or turn off invoice attachments that might be causing the reminders. For reference: View or download your invoice in the Microsoft 365 admin center and Manage billing notifications and invoice attachment settings in the Microsoft 365 admin center

If the issue persists after checking everything, and you continue to receive billing notices, I recommend contacting Microsoft Billing Support so they can review the billing records and stop any incorrect payment reminders. For reference, please go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus

Note: If you are using a Microsoft 365 Business subscription and you have access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, I recommend creating a support request to the Microsoft Billing Support Team in the M365 Admin Center. For reference: Get support for Microsoft 365 for business

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or if I have misunderstood anything, please feel free to reach out. Looking forward to your update.

If the payment already went through, billing notices can continue for a short time while the payment status syncs.

    1. Check that the subscription shows no pending balance.
      • For Microsoft 365 consumer subscriptions, verify the subscription status under account.microsoft.com/services.
      • If the subscription is active and there are no payment alerts, the notices are often delayed remnants.
    2. Allow up to 24 hours for billing status to update across services.
      • A documented accepted resolution notes that these notices can persist temporarily even after payment is received.
    3. If the notice appears inside an Office app, refresh the license status.
      • Open Word or Excel.
      • Go to File > Account.
      • Select Update License.
      • If needed, sign out of the app, close it, reopen it, and sign back in.
    4. If the subscription is for an organization, check who receives billing notifications in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
      • Go to Billing > Billing notifications.
      • Billing notifications and invoice attachment settings can be managed there.
      • For MOSA billing accounts, notifications go to Global admins and Billing admins.
      • For MCA billing accounts, notifications go to users with billing profile roles such as Billing profile owner, Billing profile contributor, or Invoice manager.
    5. If payment was processed but service is still affected, create a support request.
      • This is the documented next step when payment has been received but billing state has not cleared.
