Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Turn recurring billing back on from your Microsoft account; before confirming, check the displayed renewal price because Microsoft does not guarantee that your previous $79 rate will be retained.
Turn recurring billing back on
- Sign in to Services & subscriptions using the Microsoft account that purchased Microsoft 365:
https://account.microsoft.com/services - Find the relevant Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
- Select Turn on recurring billing.
- If the page shows Renew or Resubscribe instead, select that; it also enables recurring billing.
- Review the plan, payment schedule, next billing date, and renewal amount before accepting.
- Complete the prompts and verify that the subscription now shows a January 2027 renewal date or upcoming charge. Microsoft documents that recurring billing charges on the displayed renewal date.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Turn recurring billing on or off for a Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")
Turning recurring billing off did not immediately end your subscription. It remains usable until the expiration date shown in your account.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Turn recurring billing on or off for a Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")
Will the January 2027 renewal still cost $79?
The account page will show how much the renewal will cost when you turn recurring billing back on.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "How to renew your Microsoft 365 subscription | Microsoft Support") The supplied Microsoft guidance does not promise preservation of the former $79 price. Treat the amount shown during reactivation as the applicable renewal amount, and do not confirm if it is not acceptable.
If the option is missing
- “Paid with pre-paid card” appears: recurring billing cannot be enabled for that purchase; buy or redeem another subscription when it expires.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Turn recurring billing on or off for a Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")
- The subscription came from Apple, Google, Amazon, or another retailer: manage renewal through that provider rather than Microsoft.[^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Where can I manage my Microsoft 365 subscription? | Microsoft Support")
- The subscription is missing: verify that you signed in with the Microsoft account used for the purchase. If it is expired and there is no Renew or Resubscribe option, that subscription may no longer be available.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Turn recurring billing on or off for a Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")
- The price or renewal date looks wrong: use Contact Support from Microsoft’s payment-options page and ask the billing team to review the offer attached to the account.[^4^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Change your Microsoft subscription payment method and options | Microsoft Support")
