how to cancel 0ffice 365 and install office 2024

To switch from Microsoft 365 to Office 2024 on a PC:

1. Uninstall Microsoft 365 first.
   • In most cases, installing a newer Office version removes the earlier one automatically.
   • If installation fails or there are conflicts, uninstall Microsoft 365 before installing Office 2024.
   • On Windows, go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select the Microsoft 365 product, and choose Uninstall.
   • If needed, use the uninstall troubleshooter for Microsoft 365, Office 2021, Office 2019, or Office 2016. Note: the troubleshooter does not uninstall Office 2024.
2. Back up Outlook data if used.
   • Uninstalling Office does not delete Office files.
   • If Outlook is included in the current Office version, back up Outlook data files before uninstalling.
3. Install Office 2024 from the Microsoft account used for the purchase.
   • Go to the Microsoft account, Services & subscriptions page and sign in with the Microsoft account associated with Office 2024.
   • Select Install for Office 2024 and follow the installation steps.
4. If Office installation is slow or appears stuck:
   • Restart the PC and check whether Office actually installed.
   • Try a wired internet connection.
   • Use the offline installer if the connection, proxy, firewall, or antivirus is interfering.
5. After installation, Office 2024 should update automatically, or updates can be checked manually.

Important:

• Only one version of Office on a PC is recommended unless using a supported side-by-side configuration.
• If Microsoft 365 subscription features are no longer needed, canceling the subscription is separate from uninstalling the apps.
