My plan auto renewed on oct 9th, I didn’t get prior notification. Can I cancel now and switch to a different plan and get the difference refunded! I need to go from annual to monthly at a lower rate.

Hi Rita,

Yes you can definitely switch you plan. Since your annual plan auto-renewed on October 9th you are within Microsofts 30-day refund window.

Here is what you need to do:

Go to your Microsoft account services page and cancel the subscription right away by choosing the option for an immediate cancellation and refund.
https://account.microsoft.com/services

Once the refund is processed you can simply purchase the plan you want.

If you run into any trouble finding the refund button just reach out, to Microsoft support chat since its only been a few days and an agent/support person can easily process the refund for you.

Hi,

Since your subscription automatically renewed on October 9, you can check if you’re eligible for a cancellation and refund.

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services, sign in, and select Manage next to your subscription. Check the available cancellation and refund options.

Once your current subscription is cancelled, you can purchase the monthly plan you prefer.

If you don’t see a refund option, contact Microsoft Billing Support directly to check your eligibility and available options, as this involves your personal billing information.

Click this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/

Sign in to your Microsoft account.

Select Microsoft 365 > Click 'Get home support'.

Type "Chat with an agent" from the text field and press Enter.

Click "Contact support" at the bottom.

Select the product you need help with.

Follow the prompts to connect with a live agent or request a call back.
