i don't know what's wrong with me but I can't seem to get the shadows, the directions, or the animal sounds right. I tried calling customer service and the auto system will not let me speak to a human. WTAF?

HELP??????!!!!!!!!!

As artificial intelligence gets better and better at mimicking humans, those puzzles will become ever more difficult. Ultimately, computer science will need to find another way for us to prove we are human.

Temporarily turn off ad blockers and other browser extensions, then reopen the sign-in page. It is recommended that you also clear the Microsoft sign-in cookies and site data, then close and reopen your browser. These are alternatives for verification controls that keep restarting or fail to return the result.

Try an updated browser on the same device, rather than changing devices again. This can help check whether the verification control is behaving incorrectly in your current browser, although it won’t necessarily make the puzzles easier.

Which website or app is showing these puzzles, and are your answers rejected or are the instructions unclear?

There is nowhere for me to reply to your question (see below). Microsoft has become THE WORST customer service digital ecosystem/software platform EVER. It should not be this hard. I should not have to jump through hoops to change my password or verify my phone number. FIX IT AT YOUR END. Support agents sent me here. I will go back to OPEN OFFICE. Now I remember why I left you in the first place.

You are right to be frustrated. You should not have to keep attempting unclear verification puzzles or be sent between support and the community without a resolution.

Community members and moderators do not have access to Microsoft’s verification controls, so we cannot reset, bypass, or repair the challenge from here. The most useful next step is to return to support and ask the agent to record that all available challenge types, including visual and audio verification, are unusable. Request an escalation for a verification-system failure that is preventing account security changes.

If the verification challenges keep failing, use these supported recovery paths:

Stop repeated attempts for a while. Repeated failed attempts can trigger additional security checks or temporary blocks.
Try a different verification method if one is available on the account.
Try from a different device and a different network. Switching between Wi‑Fi and cellular can help identify whether the current environment is causing the block.
If verification codes are involved, avoid making excessive or repetitive requests, because that can cause temporary blocking.
If access to the listed phone number or email is lost, select I don't have any of these during sign-in and follow the prompts.
If the account is blocked, wait before trying again. Guidance in Microsoft Support says to wait a day, and if there is still no change after 24 hours, wait longer if possible, up to 1 week.
If sign-in still fails, use the sign-in helper or contact support through Get Help / Contact Support.

To reach a human support option:

In Windows, open Settings with Windows key + I.
Go to System.
Open Get Help.
Enter the issue in the search box.
If the issue is not resolved, select Contact Support.
Choose the product/service, confirm, and then select Chat with a support agent in your web browser or the callback option if offered.

Important limits called out by Microsoft Support:
