How do I enable multiplayer on Minecraft for my 7 year old child?

I bought Minecraft and set up a Microsoft account for my child, who is under 10 years old and is a member of my Microsoft Family group. He can play the game, but only on single player, which defeats the purpose of getting him his own account so he can play with his older brother and myself.

All the online answers say to open up the Content Restrictions section under his name on the Family Safety website, but this must be old instructions, as there is no section called this under the current Microsoft Family Safety website.

Sign in as yourself (the organizer) at account.xbox.com/settings.

Open Privacy & online safety, pick your son’s profile, and go to the Online safety tab.

Set Join multiplayer games and Cross-network play to Allow.

Have your son sign out and back in to Minecraft. On a PC, sign out of the Microsoft Store, the Xbox app and the Minecraft Launcher, then sign back in to each.
