Microsoft 365 Family Storage Reduction and Price Increases Are Driving Loyal Customers Away

As a long-time Microsoft 365 Family subscriber, I am extremely disappointed by the reported changes to storage allocation and the recent subscription price increases.

My family has organised years of files, photos, backups, and personal data based on the understanding that each family member had access to their own 1 TB of storage. Any move away from that model dramatically reduces the value of the subscription and creates serious practical problems for households that have relied on Microsoft's previous commitment.

What makes this even more frustrating is that these changes come alongside higher subscription costs. Customers are effectively being asked to pay more while receiving less. That is difficult to justify and undermines the trust that loyal subscribers have placed in Microsoft for years.

I strongly urge Microsoft to reconsider this policy for existing subscribers, introduce grandfathered plans that preserve current storage allocations, or provide alternative options that do not penalise families already invested in the ecosystem.

If these changes proceed without a fair solution for current customers, I will have no choice but to cancel my subscription and move my family's data to competing services. I believe many other subscribers are facing the same decision.

Microsoft should reward customer loyalty, not reduce benefits while increasing prices.

Definitely more expensive for a large family pool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/microsoft-365-pro/cfq7ttbzzcmc

I'm not sure what will happen to Personal Vault storage quotas.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble.

I can certainly understand your frustration here. If you currently have an existing membership then those changes will not take effect until your next renewal date but according to the FAQ's and information at this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/changes-to-microsoft-365-storage it does say that some markets could receive extra storage at the renewal time.

Please give the link a read.
