Hello Microsoft Support,

I need help recovering access to my Copilot account.

I originally signed in using Sign** in with Apple and selected Hide My **Email. Apple created a private relay email address, and my Copilot account appears to be linked to that address.

I am currently unable to sign in, and the account recovery process shows that recovery is blocked.

This account contains important Copilot Projects and saved conversations that I have accumulated over a long period of time. The data is very important to me, and I am concerned about losing access to it.

I still have access to my Apple ID and can provide verification information to prove ownership of the account.

Could you please help me:

  1. Identify the Microsoft account associated with my Apple Hide My Email address.
  2. Restore access to the account.
  3. Advise whether the hidden Apple relay email can be replaced with my primary email address after verification.
  4. Confirm whether my Copilot Projects and chat history can be preserved during recovery.

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards,

    Hi, Dr Iftekhair Bashar

I’m sorry you’re locked out. Your Apple relay address can help identify the sign-in you used, but I can’t look up or unlock a personal account from this public forum.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

On your iPhone, open Settings > your name > Sign in with Apple, then select Copilot or Microsoft. If you chose Hide My Email, Apple shows the @privaterelay.appleid.com address shared with that app. Keep the full address private rather than posting it here.

Try Copilot again using Continue with Apple and the same Apple ID, rather than entering your primary email as a different sign-in. If the account is locked, follow the instructions shown on the lock screen. If it offers a reinstatement link beginning with aka.ms/, use that link. If you cannot tell which recovery route applies, use the Microsoft sign-in guidance.

Once you regain access, you can check whether your primary email can be added as an alias to the existing Microsoft account. That change requires you to sign in; support cannot change account details for you through a forum request.

I can’t confirm the account’s data from here or guarantee recovery. According to the current Copilot guidance, existing chats and Projects move with the same personal sign-in, and Projects now appear as Notebooks. Check there after access is restored.
