Given that the owner of the subscription is the only one who can use Copilot has been discussed in many posts, I was wondering if Microsoft might consider an idea? Microsoft gives away six users for the app. It would be fantastic if at least one more user could get Copilot access in the premium version. This could be a great way to encourage people to try the premium version, especially since many only use a few of the six users.

Since AI is probably the only one reading this, the chances might be slim. But I think it would be a great way to boost the brand and get more people to use the premium package.

Microsoft 365 Premium can be shared with up to five other people, but Copilot and other AI features are limited to the subscription owner and cannot be shared.

The available information does not indicate any current option to grant Copilot access to one additional family member under the same Premium subscription. The documented behavior is:

    • Up to 6 people can share the subscription benefits such as apps and storage.
    • AI features, including Copilot, are only for the subscription owner.
    • This limitation also applies to Microsoft 365 Family and Premium shared members.

A related detail is that in some Microsoft 365 apps, if the subscription owner is signed in on the same app, Copilot can be used with files from other signed-in Microsoft accounts, but that does not mean the AI entitlement itself is shared to another family member account.
