Copilot chat history differs across apps for the same Microsoft account

Hello Microsoft Support,

I am using the Microsoft account **PII ****@outlook.com and have an active Microsoft 365 Family subscription.

I have noticed that Copilot chat history is not consistent across Microsoft applications:

Expected Behavior

I expected Copilot conversations to be available across devices and Microsoft applications when signed in with the same Microsoft account.

Actual Behavior

  • Windows Copilot app and Copilot Web (copilot.com) display the same chat history.
  • Copilot inside Word, Excel, and Outlook displays a different history.
  • Microsoft 365 mobile app (Android) also displays a different history.
  • All applications are signed in with the same account: **PII ****@outlook.com.

Troubleshooting Performed

  • Verified the same Microsoft account is used everywhere.
  • Confirmed Microsoft 365 Family subscription is active.
  • Signed out and back in.
  • Compared histories between Copilot Web, Windows Copilot, Microsoft 365 apps, and Android apps.

Please confirm whether separate chat histories between:

  • Copilot Web/Desktop, and
  • Copilot inside Microsoft 365 applications

are expected behavior for Microsoft 365 Family subscribers, or whether this indicates a synchronization issue on my account and how to resolve it?

    Regarding your questions, the mismatch between Copilot apps and Microsoft 365 Copilot is kind of expected. They are better thinking of as related entries with different representations than a mirror match. Due to a recent update, chat history might be out of sync between devices while data is moving, which can explain the different between your PC and mobile. In short, I don't think that there are any syncing issue with your account at the moment.
