I didn't delete anything mistakenly. The emails are not in my trash/deleted/archived. They were still on my phone. Total bug. They just vanished and I'm sure I will not get a valid answer as to why. Installed version office 2019 on a laptop. Not the first time this has happened.

Here’s a shorter, more conversational version:

    Hi Frank,

Since the emails are still on your phone, they are most likely still on the mail server and the problem is with Outlook on the laptop.

First, clear any search or filters in the Inbox. If that does not help, check your email through webmail. If everything is there, try repairing your Outlook profile under File > Account Settings > Account Settings > select your account > Repair. Microsoft recommends profile repair for desktop Outlook connection and synchronization issues.

Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.

Microsoft’s guidance confirms these troubleshooting steps for Outlook 2019. ([support.microsoft.com](https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/Outlook/use-outlook-s-built-in-search-filters?utm_source=chatgpt.com"Use Outlook's built-in search filters | Microsoft Support"))
