Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
In Outlook, Copilot behavior is controlled by the Copilot settings rather than per‑message pop‑ups. To stop Copilot from automatically appearing while still keeping it available, use the Copilot toggle so Copilot stays enabled but its entry points are hidden until explicitly selected.
In Outlook (new for Windows, web, Mac, iOS, Android):
- Open Outlook.
- Go to Settings.
- Select the Copilot section.
- Use the Turn on Copilot (or similar Copilot toggle) to adjust visibility so Copilot does not surface automatically in each new message, but remains available when manually invoked.
If the goal is to hide Copilot entry points (such as “Summarize this email” or draft prompts) without fully disabling Copilot, use the Copilot toggle per account so Copilot does not appear by default in every new email but can still be accessed when needed.
Note: In classic Outlook for Windows, there is currently no specific setting documented to control automatic Copilot pop‑ups per new message; the Copilot toggle and “Turn on Copilot” controls are available in new Outlook and other platforms.
