If passwords were saved to Microsoft services (like Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Password Manager, or Windows Credential Manager), try these steps to restore or locate them:

    1. Check Microsoft Edge saved passwords
      • Open Microsoft Edge.
      • Go to Settings and more (⋯) > Settings > Passwords and autofill > Microsoft Password Manager.
      • Review the saved passwords list.
      • Use Password security check to see unsafe or compromised passwords and manage them. For each listed account you can select Edit to go to the site and change or confirm the password.
      • For details, see Protect your online accounts using Password Monitor.
    2. Check Windows Credential Manager
      • On Windows, open Control Panel.
      • Go to User Accounts > Credential Manager.
      • Look under Web Credentials and Windows Credentials for stored passwords. See Credential Manager in Windows.
    3. Check other devices or browsers
    4. If passwords were in Microsoft Authenticator
      • If Microsoft Authenticator was used to store one-time passwords, they can be restored from backup on the same platform (iOS-to-iOS or Android-to-Android).
      • On iOS: enable iCloud Drive, iCloud Keychain, and iCloud Backup, install Authenticator, then sign in and complete restore. See Restore account credentials from Microsoft Authenticator.
      • On Android: open Authenticator and select Restore from backup or Begin recovery, then sign in with the same Microsoft account used for backup.
      • Note: For Microsoft personal accounts that use passwordless sign-in, only the account name is backed up; sign-in must be completed again after restore.

If none of these locations show the passwords, they may not have been backed up or synced, and they will need to be reset individually on each service or website.

    Hi, happy to help here.

Password recovery only if they were synced with your account. Can try to sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/securitycheck Saved Passwords in Edge or the Authenticator app. If they don’t appear, Microsoft cannot restore deleted or unsynced passwords, and you will need to reset them on each service.
