    Hello Alan,

This is April, I'll be happy to assist you. Sorry to hear that you're having issue with Microsoft Photos. Let me help you out.

Based on the description of your issue, your Microsoft Photos has just stopped syncing with your iCloud photos and shows error message "Syncing has been paused". Let me provide you steps that can help fix the issue:

    Restart Microsoft Photos and PC

    • Close the photo app completely
    • Restart your computer
    • After restarting, open the Photos app again and see if syncing has resumed.

    Check iCloud Settings and Connection

    • Make sure you are signed in to iCloud on your PC
    • Open the iCloud for Windows app and ensure that Photos syncing is enabled.
    • Verify that your internet connection is active and stable.

    Reset the Microsoft Photos App

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps and Features
    • Locate Microsoft Photos in the list and click on Advanced options
    • Click Reset to restore the app to default state (this won't delete your photos, but settings and cache will reset)
    • Once done, reopen Microsoft photos and check if syncing is working properly.

Update Microsoft Photos and iCloud for Windows

    • Open Microsoft Store, check for updates for Microsoft Photos
    • Launch Apple Software Update on your PC to see if there's an update for iCloud for Windows. Install if available.

Check for Paused Sync in iCloud Photos

    • iCloud photos may pause sync automatically due to low disk space
    • Open iCloud for Windows and check if any sync error or messages appears
    • Ensure your PC has sufficient free disk space

    Re-enable Photo syncing in iCloud

    • Open the iCloud in Windows app
    • Uncheck the Photos then apply changes
    • Re-check the photos box and apply again to trigger a fresh sync.

If the issue continues, please don’t hesitate to contact us again. We’re here to help, and we appreciate your continued trust in us.

    Warm Regards,

    April P.
