Unfortunately you would have to cancel the subscription in your brother's account, or I should say, he should cancel it, then request a refund if this was made within the last 30 days. Then you go sign up for the plan under your account. There's no supported pathway to do a simple switch.

To cancel, Please go to https://account.live.com

Sign into his Microsoft account. Then go to Services. Click on Manage for the subscription plan you want to cancel.

To request refund, go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.

An existing Microsoft 365 subscription cannot be transferred from one Microsoft account to another.

For Microsoft 365 Basic or other home subscriptions, the subscription stays tied to the Microsoft account that was used when it was purchased or activated.

    What can be done:

    1. Sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/services with the account that currently owns the subscription.
    2. If the subscription is on the wrong account, turn off recurring billing or cancel that subscription.
    3. Purchase the correct Microsoft 365 subscription again using the Microsoft account that should own it.
    4. On the new laptop, install and activate Microsoft 365 by signing in with the correct Microsoft account.

If the goal is only to use the subscription on the new laptop, the subscription does not need to be moved between devices. Microsoft 365 subscriptions are tied to the account, not the laptop.

If files are stored in OneDrive under the wrong account, back them up before canceling that subscription.
