Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
To identify which Microsoft account is tied to the charge, use these checks:
- Check Manage your payments and select Investigate for the charge.
- Review Order history and Services & subscriptions in every Microsoft account that might have been used.
- Check products already signed in with a Microsoft account:
- Windows 10/11: Start > Settings > Accounts. Under Email & app accounts, review the usernames on the device.
- Office apps: Open Word or Excel, then File > Account. Under Product Information, check Belongs to.
- Email accounts: Look for Microsoft receipts or subscription emails.
- Xbox: Check the account tied to the gamertag.
- Try any alternate email addresses that may have been used for the account.
- If the charge still cannot be matched to any account, use the sign-in helper tool if the issue is a forgotten account email or password.
- If the account still cannot be identified, contact Microsoft Support through Get Help and Contact Support.
- If the charge is unrecognized or payment information may have been used by someone else, contact the bank or payment provider to prevent more charges.
