Hi,

On my professional account I was signed out from the authenticator. There is no way for me to log in on the laptop or the authenticator without the autheticator login. I am completely blocked.

The only 2 options available to log in are validation on authenticator or code from authenticator. Is there another way?

I reset my password, it didn't help.

Thank you,

Diana

Resetting the password does not reset Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication, so it will not break this loop. Because this is a professional/work account, use these options in order:

    1. On the sign-in prompt, select Sign in another way. If another method appears (SMS, call, security key, Windows Hello, or recovery code), complete sign-in with it. Then open https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo, remove the unusable Authenticator registration, and add the app again.
    2. If no alternative method is offered, contact your organization's IT help desk or Microsoft 365/Entra administrator. Ask them to verify your identity, then open Entra ID > Users > your account > Authentication methods and either delete the stale Authenticator method or select Require re-register multifactor authentication. They can also issue a time-limited Temporary Access Pass if the tenant policy permits it. Do not ask them to disable MFA or exclude the account from Conditional Access.
    3. After the reset, install/update Authenticator, enable notifications, confirm automatic date/time and network access on the phone, and use the new QR code displayed during registration. Do not try to sign into Authenticator first; adding the work account is part of the registration process.

    Microsoft guidance:

If you are the tenant's only administrator, say so explicitly; the recovery path is different and requires Microsoft Support to verify tenant ownership. Please do not post your email address, tenant ID, phone number, or verification documents here.
