Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
I'm sorry this has dragged on for months. Old email addresses on a Microsoft account sit in two separate places, which is usually why removing them seems not to work. You need to clear both.
1. Sign-in addresses (aliases)
- Sign in with the account you use now and go to account.live.com/names/manage (or account.microsoft.com > Your info > Edit account info).
- Make sure your current email is added and set as the primary alias. You can't remove the primary one, so move "primary" to your new address first.
- Click Remove next to the old Gmail and the school email.
2. Security info (where codes get sent)
- Go to account.microsoft.com > Security > Advanced security options.
- Under "Ways to prove who you are", remove the old Gmail and school email. Keep at least your current email or phone so you don't get locked out.
Since that Gmail was compromised, change your Microsoft account password while you're in there, and check Recent activity on the same Security page for anything you don't recognise.
Please don't post email addresses in the thread. The moderators have already removed them once to protect you.
When you click Remove next to the old address, does an error appear, or does it just not go away?
If this resolved your issue, please consider accepting it as the answer. If the remove option is missing or fails, let me know and I'll be happy to keep helping.
