Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
To request a refund for a Microsoft 365 recurring charge:
- Go to your Microsoft account subscriptions page: Manage your Microsoft 365 subscription.
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase the subscription.
- Find the Microsoft 365 subscription.
- If available, select Cancel subscription or check whether it shows Cancel and get a refund.
- Complete the on-screen steps to cancel and check refund eligibility.
Important details:
- Not all cancellations result in a refund.
- To check refund eligibility for a Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium subscription purchased from Microsoft, the subscription must be canceled first.
- If the page shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire on the shown date and no further cancellation is required.
- If the subscription was purchased through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or another third-party retailer, the refund must be requested from that provider directly. Microsoft cannot refund or manage billing for those purchases.
- If the charge is not recognized, use the Manage your payments page and select Investigate.
If the refund option does not appear, use Microsoft guided support or contact support from the Microsoft account help flow.
