I recently subscribed to @onmicrosoft.com account and paid the subscription. Unfortunately the lady who assisted me on phone did not send links and guide on how to set up this account and start using it for business emails.

Please assist.

    Hi Prayers,

I'd recommend following Microsoft's official setup guides to get your new Microsoft 365 business account configured and ready for email use:

Set up Microsoft 365 for business

These guides walk through the key steps, including signing in for the first time, setting up your domain (if applicable), creating users, and configuring business email.

If you run into any issues or have questions while going through the setup process, feel free to reply here with the details. I'll be happy to help further.

To start using the new Microsoft 365 business account for email, complete the setup in this order:

    1. Sign in with the business account that was created during sign-up.
      • New business tenants are typically created with a default address in the format ******@yourtenant.onmicrosoft.com.
      • For a work or school account, use the My Account portal at https://myaccount.microsoft.com.
    2. Confirm which sign-in name to use.
      • If a custom domain was added during setup, the admin sign-in name might have changed from the original onmicrosoft.com address to the new domain address.
      • If sign-in fails with the onmicrosoft.com account, try the newer business email address with the same password in an InPrivate or Incognito browser window.
    3. If a business email address still needs to be created, choose one of these options:
      • Use the free default onmicrosoft.com domain.
      • Buy a new domain during setup.
      • Use a domain that is already owned.
    4. If setting up Microsoft 365 Business Basic with a new domain:
      • On the How you'll sign in page, choose Create a new business email account (advanced).
      • Follow the steps to buy a new domain and enter the domain name to use.
    5. If creating a work account in Partner Center, the work email must:
      • Be a valid business work email address.
      • Be accessible to receive a verification code.
      • Not be a generic role-based address.
      • Not be a disposable or personal email address.
    6. After the account is ready, set up Outlook for email:
      • Open Outlook.
      • Select Next on the Welcome page.
      • Go to File > Info > Add Account.
      • Enter the Microsoft email address and select Connect.
    7. If mail, calendar, or contacts need to be moved from an older Outlook account:
      • In Outlook, go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
      • Export the old mailbox to a .pst file.
      • Then use Import from another program or file to import it into the new account.
    8. If the business name needs to be changed, contact Microsoft small business support.

If the issue is specifically that the new business account cannot be found after purchase, check the email inbox used during sign-up for the message containing the business account details. In some cases, the tenant might still be provisioning or the sign-in name may have changed after adding a custom domain.
