    Good day Mayborg,

Just to gently clarify before going any further, this forum is separate from Microsoft Support. I don’t have the ability to access or investigate individual accounts because this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Also, I can't contact you directly.

Unfortunately, a work Microsoft 365 account and a personal Gmail account cannot be merged into one account. They are managed separately and must remain as separate accounts.

Please consider the following options based on your requirements:

Option 1: Use both accounts in New Outlook

If your goal is to access both accounts in one place:

    Open New Outlook.

Go to Settings > Accounts > Your accounts

Select Add account and sign in with your work account.

Repeat the same steps to add your Gmail account.

You can then manage both mailboxes from Outlook while keeping the accounts separate.

Note: If you are using Classic Outlook or Legacy Outlook for Mac, please let me know.

Option 2: Forward work emails to Gmail

If you want messages from your work account to be delivered to Gmail, please contact your organization's IT administrator to confirm whether external email forwarding is allowed. Some organizations restrict forwarding due to security and compliance requirements.

Note: In case you do not know who is your IT admin, kindly refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

    Option 3: Transfer files manually

If your goal is to transfer files, you can sign in to both accounts in OneDrive or Google Drive and manually download files from one account and upload them to the other, provided you have permission to access those files.

Please note that account licenses, mailbox contents, storage and organization managed permissions cannot be merged or transferred to a personal Gmail account.

For privacy and security, please avoid posting personal email addresses or other personal information in this public forum.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

A Microsoft 365 work account cannot be merged with a personal Gmail or Gmail-based Microsoft account; the two accounts must remain separate.^1^

    Supported alternatives

    • Manage both mailboxes in Outlook:
      • New Outlook for Windows: View → View settings → Accounts → Your accounts → Add Account, then enter the Gmail address.
      • Classic Outlook: File → Add Account, enter the Gmail address, and select Connect.^2^
    • Use both OneDrive accounts: Select the OneDrive cloud icon → Help & Settings → Settings → Account → Add an account. The storage remains separate, but files can be copied or dragged between the work and personal folders.^3^
    • Forward work email to Gmail: Ask the organization’s IT administrator whether external forwarding is permitted. This depends on company security and data-protection policies.
    • Microsoft 365 subscription and billing: Subscriptions, purchases, balances, and account history cannot be transferred by merging accounts. Before cancelling or changing anything, identify which account owns the subscription and preserve any required email and OneDrive data.

Microsoft Learn Q&A cannot send a private response to the requested email address; replies remain on the public question page. Avoid posting complete email addresses or other personal information here.
