=== SITUATION ===

I'm the sole Global Administrator of a Microsoft 365 business tenant and completely locked out.

=== PROBLEM ===

- Clicked phishing link, account flagged for suspicious activity
- Microsoft disabled admin dashboard (October 2026)
- Now stuck in MFA Authenticator loop on ALL admin portals:
  • Azure Portal
  • Microsoft 365 Admin Center
  • Microsoft Entra Admin Center
- No backup MFA methods configured (no SMS, no alternate email)
- Phone support transfers fail (silent transfers from EU region)

=== WHAT I NEED ===

Escalation to Microsoft Data Protection Team / Tenant Recovery for:
1. Identity verification as legitimate tenant owner
2. MFA reset on locked Global Admin account
3. Restoration of administrative access

=== VERIFICATION MATERIALS READY ===

✓ Microsoft 365 subscription invoices
✓ Domain ownership proof (DNS control)
✓ Billing/payment records
✓ Company registration documents

=== CONTACT ===

Available via private message or email for verification coordination.
Location: Belgium (EU)

=== QUESTIONS FOR MODERATORS ===

1. Can this be tagged/escalated to Data Protection Team directly?
2. Is there an alternative channel for sole-admin lockout cases?
3. What specific documentation do DPT typically require?

Thank you for guidance on the correct recovery path.

    Please note that forum moderators do not have access to user account settings and cannot assist with logging in, resetting passwords, or changing access rights. While we do not have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account-specific or backend-related issues, but we’ll continue doing our best to support you within the scope of our responsibilities.

    Hi @Ellen Debackere

    I’m very sorry that you’re having to go through this challenging situation.
    Since you are the sole Global Administrator and there is no other administrator in the tenant who can assist you, you are correct that you will need help from the Microsoft Data Protection Team.

    Unfortunately, no one in the forum community can resolve this issue directly because we do not have access to your tenant or the necessary tools to verify your identity and restore administrator access.

    Please continue contacting Microsoft Support so your case can be directed to the appropriate team. You can find the support number for your region here: Microsoft Customer Service phone numbers.

    Here are some tips and an example of a prompt to help you navigate the IVR more effectively:  *
    (When you call the support number, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore this introduction and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help.)*

    IVR: What kind of problem are you concerned about?

    You: Authenticator.

    A: What products do you use?

    You: Office 365 for business.

    Verification: Education or company account?

    You: For companies

    IVR: Are you an administrator?

    You: Yes.

    IVR: Are there any other administrators in your organization?

    You: No.

    IVR: Do you need a... Service request?

    You: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me directly to the Data Protection Team.

    During the phone call, you will need to provide the information associated with your subscription, such as your company name, billing details, phone number, and an alternate email address, etc. This information allows the Data Protection team to verify your identity and securely assist you in regaining access to your administrator account.

    I also recommend calling during business hours. In my experience, it can be difficult to get through to the correct support queue, and automated systems don't always work as expected. If you can't get through on your first try, I suggest trying again later or at a different time.

    In case you are unable to contact the frontline support:

    Consider signing up for a trial subscription to create a new tenant. Once set up, you can access the new tenant's admin console and submit a support ticket to speak with the data protection team on behalf of the previous tenant. Once your issue is resolved, please remember to cancel the trial subscription to avoid any unintended charges.

    When submitting the support request from the new tenant, I recommend including the relevant information about your original tenant in the description of your ticket. This will give the support team the necessary context and can help make the ownership verification and case review process smoother.

    You may include the following details:

    • Tenant domain (xxxxx.onmicrosoft.com)
    • Tenant ID
    • Global Administrator UPN
    • Subscription and billing information
    • Evidence of domain ownership
    • Company information and any other relevant ownership verification documents

    For your security, please provide sensitive or confidential information only through the appropriate private support channel when requested, and do not post it here in this public forum.

    I hope this helps you regain access to your account quickly. I'm glad to assist and truly hope the information provided has been useful. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you need further assistance.
