Dear Microsoft 365 Support Team,

I am contacting you from my personal Gmail account because I am currently unable to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or submit a support request through our company’s Microsoft 365 account.

Domain: xcute-ww.com

Subscription and billing: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]@gmail.com

Domain owner: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]@gmail.com

My Microsoft 365 Account: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]@xcute-ww.com

I am responsible for the Microsoft 365 subscription, which is paid using my personal credit card. All Microsoft invoices and billing communications are sent directly to my personal Gmail account.

The Microsoft 365 environment was configured by [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed], who currently holds the administrative privileges. Unfortunately, he is no longer in our team, and we cannot access or manage the administrative settings.

When I sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, I receive the following message:

Your account ([Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]@xcute-ww.com) doesn’t have permission to view or manage this page in the Microsoft 365 Admin center

I have also attempted to contact Microsoft Support through the online portal, but I cannot proceed because my account does not have the required administrative permissions.

I urgently request your assistance with:

  1. Opening a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator Recovery case.
  2. Verifying my identity and authorization to manage the subscription.
  3. Restoring Global Administrator access to my company account.
  4. Reviewing and revoking the previous administrator’s access after verification.
  5. Ensuring that our existing email accounts, subscriptions, and company data remain unaffected.

I can provide Microsoft invoices, payment confirmation, GoDaddy domain ownership records, and official company documentation.

Please provide an alternative verification and recovery process that does not require signing in with an existing Global Administrator account.

I would appreciate it if your team could contact me directly through this Gmail address and provide a support case number.

Thank you for your urgent assistance.

Best regards,

[Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]

    Hi Nesrein,

Thank you for providing the detailed information.

Please note that Microsoft Q&A is a public community forum. Forum moderators and community members cannot open a support case, verify tenant ownership, assign Global Administrator permissions, revoke an administrator’s access, or make changes to your subscription.

If no other administrator has access to the tenant, you'll need to contact Microsoft's Data Protection team for assistance. They are the only team authorized to help recover access in situations involving the sole administrator account.

You can find Microsoft's support numbers here: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

You will need to complete a tenant ownership verification with Microsoft’s Data Protection Team. This process generally involves submitting the following documentation:

Proof of domain ownership, such as access to manage DNS records

Billing or subscription information, including payment methods or account history  The Tenant ID of the affected Microsoft 365 organization

    Official business registration documents

Documentation confirming you are an authorized signatory for the business.

Here are some tips and an example of a prompt to help you navigate the IVR more effectively:

(When you call the support number, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore this introduction and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help.)

In some regions, the initial interaction may be automated, so here’s a general idea of how the conversation might go to help you prepare:

    • IVR: What problem is bothering you?
    • Client: Lost access to the only admin account
    • IVR: What product do you use?
    • Customer: Office 365 for business
    • IVR: School or Business Account?
    • Client: Companies
    • IVR: Are you an administrator?
    • Client: Yes
    • IVR: Is there another administrator in your organization?
    • Client: No. I am the only admin in my tenant
    • IVR: Do you need to create a support ticket?
    • Client: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me direct to the Data Protection Teams.

I also recommend calling during business hours. In my experience, it can be difficult to get through to the correct support queue, and automated systems don't always work as expected. If you can't get through on your first try, I suggest trying again later or at a different time.

Alternative option if you cannot reach frontline support:

If you're unable to successfully engage support through the phone system, you might consider registering for a new tenant by signing up for a trial subscription.

To set up a new tenant, please follow these steps:

Visit Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing | Microsoft 365. This would allow you to create a new tenant following the prompts provided. Once set up, you can access the admin console of the new tenant and submit a support ticket requesting to speak with the Data Protection team on behalf of your previous tenant.

Follow the guided setup process to create a new account for a new tenant.

Once your tenant is created, you should be able to access the support portal and submit your ticket referencing your locked account without further issues.

In your ticket description, you'll need to clearly explain that you're trying to regain access to your previous Microsoft 365 tenant and need help from the Data Protection team. Here's a message you can use or adapt:

"Hello, I am unable to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center for our tenant because my account (@xcute-ww.com) does not have Global Administrator permissions. The individual who originally configured our Microsoft 365 environment and holds the administrative privileges is no longer with the company, leaving us without administrative access to manage our tenant.

I created this new tenant solely to request assistance. I kindly ask to be connected with the Data Protection team so that I can verify my identity and authorization as the subscription owner and begin the administrator recovery process for our original tenant.

This matter is urgent because we are currently unable to manage our Microsoft 365 services, subscriptions, and administrative settings. I am prepared to provide any documentation required, including Microsoft invoices, billing records, proof of payment, domain ownership information, and company documentation to support the verification and recovery process."

Ticket Support: In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & Support.

Please remember to cancel the trial subscription after your issue is resolved, as this will help you avoid any accidental billing. You may prefer the following resource for detailed instructions: Cancel your Microsoft business subscription in the Microsoft 365 admin center | Microsoft Learn

I truly hope this helps you regain access to your account quickly. Even though I can't directly intervene, directing you to the correct and specialized support is the most effective help I can provide from my position.

Thank you for your kindness and contributions to the forum.
