Microsoft Learn certification: Cannot change legal name – support form has no Credentials option

Hello,

the legal name in my Microsoft Learn certification profile contains a typo – one letter is missing in my first name, so it doesn't match my government-issued ID.

When I try to correct it in Learn Settings > Legal name, I get the message: "Your legal name change request will require further review. Please contact Credential Support to modify your legal name." I followed the instructions on the Credentials support page, but the online support request form (Support for Business) does not offer "Microsoft Credentials" or "Learning" as a product, so I'm unable to open a ticket.

Learn username: DamijanKavs-0196

Could a moderator please help me get my legal name corrected, or tell me how to open a Credentials support case? I can provide the exact spelling and a copy of my ID privately.

Thank you!

To correct the legal name on a Microsoft Learn certification profile:

    1. Sign in to the Learn profile that needs the change.
    2. Go to settings.
    3. Follow the Legal Name update flow.
    4. If Learn shows "Your legal name change request will require further review. Please contact Credential Support to modify your legal name.", the change must be handled by Credentials Support.

A key limitation applies here: if an exam is already registered or the profile is flagged for review, self-service legal name editing is blocked and support approval is required.

For this case, use Credentials Support for Microsoft Certifications. The support guidance explicitly says that when the profile shows messaging to contact Certification Support, a ticket should be filed with the Credentials Support team. Community moderators and forum users do not have account access to manually correct the legal name.

If the general support form is not showing a Microsoft Credentials or Learning product option, use the dedicated Credentials Support entry point instead of the generic Support for Business flow.

    Also note:

    • The legal name is used for identity verification for certification exams.
    • It must match the government-issued ID presented at the exam appointment.
    • If already registered for an exam, changing it requires Microsoft support approval.
