I work on a Windows laptop and Outlook has updated to a new version without asking me. How can I revert to the previous version/look?

If the process provided by the Ai below does not resolve the problem, you can download and install Outlook Classic from this link.

To go back to the previous Outlook look/version on Windows:

    1. Open new Outlook.
    2. In the top-right corner, turn off the New Outlook toggle.
    3. Confirm the switch when prompted.

    That will reopen classic Outlook.

If the toggle is not visible in new Outlook, use Help > Go to classic Outlook.

    Additional notes:

    • It is possible to switch back to classic Outlook at any time.
    • If classic Outlook shows File > Options > General > New Outlook options, clear Automatically switch me to new Outlook to avoid the one-time automatic switch when that option is available.
    • If the toggle is missing in classic Outlook, the account may not be supported yet for switching, or an admin may have blocked the toggle.
    • In business environments, starting from January 2025, classic Outlook users on the Current Channel with a Business plan may be automatically switched to new Outlook after notifications, but both users and IT admins can turn off that automatic switch.
