    Hi Jay,

Log into your Microsoft account on this link:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services/

Click the Manage button beside the Microsoft 365 subscription.

In there, you can cancel the subscription and also disable the recurring billing on the subscription to ensure no further payments are deducted for the subscription.

You are then usually entitled to a pro-rata refund, you can check your eligibility to a refund using the steps on this link.

Cancel the Microsoft 365 annual subscription from the purchasing account now; the cancellation process automatically checks whether the charge qualifies for a refund.

    Request the refund

    1. Go to Microsoft account Services.
    2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account used to start the trial.
    3. Locate Microsoft 365 and select Manage.
    4. Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
    5. Review the cancellation page and complete the prompts to indicate that you do not want the subscription.
    6. Check the result shown during cancellation. Microsoft will state whether the subscription qualifies for a refund and provide the next steps. Not every cancellation results in a refund.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft subscription refund policy | Microsoft Support")

If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Cancel, the subscription is already scheduled to expire and will not renew again.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription | Microsoft Support")

    Refund eligibility

    Microsoft states that:

    • In most cases, a subscription may be refunded if cancelled within 30 days of the initial purchase or before the first recurring billing date, whichever occurs sooner.
    • The most recent recurring billing charge is refundable when cancellation occurs within 30 days after payment, limited to one time per Microsoft account and subscription product.
    • Regional rules may provide additional or prorated-refund rights.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft subscription refund policy | Microsoft Support")

Cancel promptly because eligibility depends on the charge date, subscription type, purchase country, and purchase channel.

If cancellation does not offer a refund

    Contact Microsoft billing support:

    1. Open Microsoft Support.
    2. Sign in with the account that owns the subscription.
    3. Enter Billing and select Get Help.
    4. Select Contact Support.
    5. Choose Microsoft 365 → Manage my subscription.
    6. Select the available chat or callback option and explain that the one-month trial converted to an annual charge.^3^

Do not post payment details, order numbers, or other account information in this public forum.

If the subscription was purchased elsewhere

If the charge was processed by Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or another retailer, request cancellation and a refund from that seller instead. Microsoft’s account cancellation procedure applies to subscriptions purchased directly from Microsoft.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription | Microsoft Support")
