Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Hello,
- Did you exceed the OneDrive Storage limit, or are you blocked from signing in?
With a Microsoft Account, you get 5GB of OneDrive cloud storage and 15GB of Outlook email storage.
If you exceed any one of the storage limits, your account will be put into a frozen state and will no longer be able to send or receive emails.
To unfreeze your account, you have two options:
- Free up storage in your account by deleting large files on OneDrive or email attachments in Outlook.
- Upgrade your Microsoft storage by purchasing an Office 365 plan.
To free up storage in your account, go to https://onedrive.live.com/?v=managestorage
- Under the Free up space section, select 'Largest files', then select 'View files'.
Before deleting those files, make sure you have a backup of those files on your local hard drive. Also, check where these files are being synced from and stop syncing if required.

If you upgrade your storage, it takes 2-4 hours for the updated storage to be reflected in your account. You should be able to send or receive emails after 24 hours.
This applies to both of your Microsoft Accounts.
