Sent email also remains in draft folder

After sending an email, I see that the message is in the Sent folder. There is also still a copy in the Drafts folder. How do I change whatever setting is causing the extra email to still be saved in the Drafts folder?

    Hi @Catherine Tinkler
Thank you for the information provided.
As a first step, please clear the local New Outlook cache and test the behavior again by following the steps below:

    Clear the New Outlook cache

    1. Close New Outlook completely.
    2. If needed, open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and end any Microsoft Outlook or olk.exe processes.
    3. Press Windows key + R, enter the following, and press Enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft Locate and delete or rename these folders: Olk and OneAuth
    4. Restart the computer.
    5. Open New Outlook, sign in again, test to draft and sending an email.

If the issue continues, please confirm the following:

    • Does this happen with all emails you send, or only certain emails?
    • Is the affected account configured as IMAP or Exchange/Microsoft 365?
    • Could you test sending an email from both Classic Outlook and Outlook on the web (OWA) and let us know if the same behavior occurs?

These results will help determine whether the issue is specific to New Outlook or whether it also occurs with the mailbox across other Outlook clients.

Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to your update.
