On Windows 11, check the location settings in this order:
- Open Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Location.
- Turn Location services On.
- Turn Let apps access your location On.
- Under the app list on that same page, make sure the app involved with OLG is allowed to use location if it appears there.
- If the device cannot detect the correct location reliably, set a fallback location:
- In Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Location
- Under Default location, select Set default
- Select the Ontario location on the map or type the address, then select Save
If location keeps switching off:
- If Location services is missing or cannot be changed, that setting is only available to an administrator on the device.
- If a message such as Some settings are managed by your organization appears, the setting is being controlled by workplace or school management.
- Some apps and services can still use other methods such as IP address to estimate location, so the app may still show the wrong region even when Windows location is set correctly.
If the issue is only in Microsoft Edge or Bing, website location permission may also need to be reset:
- Click the lock icon in the address bar.
- Select Site settings.
- Under Permissions, change Location to allow access.
